Migrating to a new Notion database? Worrying about how to do it?
Moving Notion database items (like projects) from your old database to a new one is easy and straightforward.
Here's what you need to do:
- Open your old database
- Select the item you want to move
- Click the “…” icon at the top right corner of the page
- Select “Move” from the dropdown menu
- A popup will appear. Select the database you want to move the item to
- Click “Move” to complete the process
That's all there is to it! 🚀
Now your Notion database item has been moved from your old database to your new one.
You can also use this method to move multiple items at once 👇
To do this, select the items you want to move and click the “Move” button at the top of the page.
You'll then see the same popup window where you can select the database you want to move the items to.
Once you've selected the database, click “Move” to complete the process.
The properties of the item will also be moved when it is transferred to the new database.
🚩 This means that any settings, such as visibility, permissions, and more, will also be transferred with the item.
A best practice is to rename all the old properties with a clear emoji.
When they move over to the new database, you can quickly see them.
The next step is to update the new properties of each project.
Finally, remove the old properties that were copied over.
